Salary: Hourly rate (above minimum wage)

Hours required: 30 hours per week (includes evenings and weekends)

Reporting to: Tyneside Badminton Centre Manager & NBA / TBC Partnership Committee

Based at: Tyneside Badminton Centre

Term: Two-years fixed-term contract to progress to permanent

The purpose of the role is to champion the promotion of badminton within the region, in line with the visions of the Northumberland Badminton Association and Tyneside Badminton Centre.

The Development Officer will work to increase participation in badminton activities throughout the community, including all age groups and abilities.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develop relationships with local clubs to support the participation of badminton.
  • Work with schools to increase, develop and encourage participation within the curriculum, and extra-curricular.
  • Promote and deliver on key focus areas in conjunction with Northumberland Badminton Association and Tyneside Badminton Centre.
  • Develop relationships with local clubs to support participation in badminton.
  • Support with the training and development of coaches in both clubs and the wider community.
  • Increase awareness of the development pathway within junior badminton and promote the progression routes throughout this.
  • Provide support to the Badminton England Regional Manager to deliver national programmes in the region.
  • Assist with the development and progression of the partnership between Northumberland Badminton Association and Tyneside Badminton Centre.
